FAQ

How often will we meet?
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, especially at first. Over time, sessions may move to biweekly or monthly, depending on your progress and needs.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I am in-network with Ambetter, Aetna, BCBS, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, and Medicare. I also offer private pay at $145 per session. Coverage and benefits vary by plan, so please get in touch with your insurance provider directly to confirm eligibility, copays, and deductibles.

Is everything I say confidential?
Yes. What you share in therapy stays private, with a few exceptions required by law: if there is risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected abuse of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult, or a court order. For teens, I keep therapy confidential unless safety is a concern. Your teen needs space to be honest, and I will help you stay connected without breaking their trust.

What ages do you work with?
I work with teens 13 and up, adults of all ages, and couples. I do not work with children under the age of 13.

What if I am not in crisis - is therapy still for me?
Absolutely. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Most of my clients are managing daily life but want to understand themselves better or change patterns that are not working. Therapy is not just for emergencies - it is for anyone who wants to understand why they feel the way they do.
What if I don't remember much of my childhood?
That is actually very common. We do not need detailed memories to understand patterns. We work with what you do remember and what shows up in your life now. You do not need a clear story to begin healing.
Do I need to know if I have trauma?
No. Many people do not identify with the word "trauma" even though they are affected by difficult experiences. We focus on how your past is showing up now - not on labeling it. If something happened to you that affected the way you cope or relate to others, that is enough to work with.
What if my teen doesn't want to come?
That is normal. Most teens do not ask for therapy - parents bring them. I work to build trust and create space where they feel heard. If they are really resistant, we can talk about what might help. Sometimes just knowing there is a safe space available makes a difference over time.
How do I get started?
